Gulfport Energy is an independent U.S. exploration and production company weighted toward natural gas. Its principal assets are in the Appalachian Basin—chiefly the Utica and Marcellus formations in eastern Ohio—with additional acreage in the SCOOP play of the Anadarko Basin in Oklahoma. The business model is upstream development and production of natural gas, oil and NGLs from shale and tight-rock resource plays.
